 Upgrades, including Dead Bugs
(most recent at the top)

VersionDescription
  • 2.10
  • FEATURE - When printing labels leaves part of a sheet unused, you can have the next label print start with the first unused label. You can also override this behavior. Each label size is kept track of separately.

  • DEAD BUG - When adding a repeat allowance causes width of piece to exceed width of fabric, the cutting chart placed the "solid block" representing the repeat allowance in the wrong place, and showed it with the wrong width. Calculations were NOT affected.

  • DEAD BUG - Calculation of repeat allowance included the measurement of the repeat, plus an inch. The "plus an inch" had no basis in reality, and caused an overstatement of need when a piece was half the width of the fabric, so it is no longer a part of the calculation.

  • Swat Team    To-Do List
  • BUG - When computing extra piece(s) when desired piece is wider than fabric, EZ Pieces fails to allow for a repeat. The temporary workaround is to manually add the width of the repeat to the width of the piece. That may waste some fabric, but will assure the two pieces can be joined with a proper appearance. * No action yet - no comment from any customer.

  • 2.01

  • DEAD BUG - When adding a new piece at a later time, if you didn't first click on the fabric, the piece would appear to have a fabric assigned, but would not be included in the cutting chart or labels, or in the total yardage.

  • 2.00

  • FEATURE - Figure leather and foam (and other materials with a specific length and width).

  • FEATURE - Figure welt material (cut on bias, along length, or across width).

  • FEATURE - Copy the pieces of an article from one job, then past them into another.

  • FEATURE - Choose your calculation method for different arrangements of cutting chart.

  • FEATURE - View cutting charts on your screen.

  • FEATURE - Print just one page, or one fabric, of cutting chart.

  • FEATURE - Assign any Windows printer for the cutting chart, and another for labels.

  • FEATURE - The default seam allowance is now a more common 1/2 inch.

  • FEATURE - Repeat dimensions now can have 1/4 inch accuracy.

  • FEATURE - Going to Figure/Print by mistake doesn't start figuring automatically.

  • FEATURE - On the cutting chart, pieces carried over to the next page have a dotted border, so you don't cut them twice.

  • FEATURE - On the cutting chart, extra material figured for repeats is shown visually.

  • DEAD BUG - When printing labels of LIKE PIECES for overwide pieces that need at least two full widths to be sewn together, the second (and subsequent, if any) full widths didn't get their own label.

  • DEAD BUG - When printing small labels for EACH PIECE, the dimensions were omitted, which could cause confusion for overwide pieces that needed different widths to be sewn together.

  • DEAD BUG - When printing small labels for EACH PIECE, if more than one sheet was printed, the labels for four labels per sheet were lost, as if they had been printed in the airspace between the sheets.

  • 1.20

  • DEAD BUG - When entering notes on the Job screen, if you didn't press "Enter" after the last line, that last line wouldn't print on the Cutting Chart.

  • DEAD BUG - Some printers failed to print the Cutting Chart because they have a larger top and bottom unprintable area (I was printing too much, vertically). I have given up some space by printing 28, rather than 30, items per column, on the Cutting Chart. No data is lost - it is just shifted to another column, as needed.

  • DEAD BUG - The Cutting Chart was printing out the pages for each fabric in reverse order (on all printers except mine). Now mine is the only one that is backwards.

  • DEAD BUG - When the Cutting Chart of a Job was re-printed, if there were two or more same-sized pieces, there was no guarantee that they would be in the same place as they were on the original - it was a random thing. That is now under control and should be consistent - as long as you don't change anything.

  • DEAD BUG - During the phase where EZ Pieces figures the layout of the pieces, it displays colorful boxes on the screen. They were displayed differently, top to bottom, than is shown on the Cutting Chart. Now, they appear consistent.

  • DEAD BUG - Some new users were confused when they weren't able to get to the Jobs and Fabric Tab, or the Articles and Pieces Tab. It wasn't obvious to them that they needed to type over "- New -" in the Person column and the Job No column. Now, until they have entered 10 Clients, or 10 Jobs, there is a message at the top of the screen that gives them that instruction. It goes away after 10 because I figure they will have learned how to do it by then.

  • 1.02

  • Same as 1.01 - no change for user.

  • 1.01

  • DEAD BUG - Typing anything in a help window (Sooner or Later screen) caused EZ Pieces to complain, and nothing was remembered.

Now: Your typing is remembered and the complaint is gone.

  • ADDITION - Your Job Notes are now printed on the Cutting Chart.
